Black Teas from Vietnam Vietnamese teas have grown not only in production, but in popularity. Tea production began here in the late 1800's, however, the Vietnam war stagnated growth and production. In the 1980's the tea industry was re-born with expertise and aid from other countries that helped to enhance the quality and cultivation of their tea gardens. Most of the Vietnamese teas that are currently being produced come from the mountainous northern regions of the country.
