Favorite tea for a favorite author! |
9/27/2020 |
I love teas with herbal undertones, and this blend of lavender and mint with a black tea vase is perfect. I’ve ordered it multiple times, and the quality and flavor hold up. This would be a great pick for those who love herbal teas and are starting to try out black blends, or black tea lovers who want a bit of natural flavoring. Definitely recommend it! |

Just right |

I normally avoid any tea with lavender as I find them to be too flowery and perfumed. My daughter selected this tea for me and I love it. It's a mild black balanced with lavender and vanilla. |

Probably My Favorite Tea |
11/16/2019 |
I never got through any of Jane Austen's novels, but I'm going through tins of this tea! The vanilla and lavender pair well with the black tea. And the mint is subtle and comforting. Everything blends well together to create its own flavor. The whole is definitely much more than the sum of its parts! Delicious for any time! |

This Could Be My Favorite Tea |
11/15/2019 |
I never made it all the way through a Jane Austin novel, but I am going through a lot of tins of this tea! The vanilla and lavender mesh so well with the black tea. And the mint is subtle and comforting. Everything blends very well and nothing overpowers anything else. Awesome tea, whatever the time and whatever your mood. Mmmmmm! |

Taste good iced as well as hot but heavier on vanilla |

I liked this tea but would love a blend of mint and lavender without the vanilla.
The vanilla does warm this tea blend and is smooth black tea.
It is nice. |

Superb |

What a delight! The robust flavor tempered with the purple scent of flowers take one to the Pemberley gardens of my imagination. Making several pots a day re-using the leaves gives a nod to the frugality of the Dashwoods. This tea will be a staple in our home from now on. |

A Lovely Tea |
3/8/2019 |
I am a relatively new customer and have purchased a wide variety of teas. The Austen tea is amazing and of all of the teas I have offered family, this truly is a tremendous hit. I took it to work as well... everyone has enjoyed this tea. As with most Simpson and Vail teas no need to add anything, it is lovely as is. The fragrance alone makes you happy. |

favorite of the literary teas |

I received the literary sampler as a gift and have slowly worked my way through them all. This is my favorite! Warm, light, and flavorful, good with or without milk. |

Perfection! |
11/26/2018 |
I didn't know how I would feel about the combination of lavender and mint, but I'm a huge fan of Austin, so I figured I would give it a chance. I am SO glad that I did! It is a remarkable cuppa! So complex, and genuinely lovely! |

Amazing |

This is the best black tea I’ve ever had. I don’t have to put any milk or sweetener in it because the taste is so wonderful by itself. |

A unique, refreshing blend! |
12/13/2017 |
Now, I was never much a fan of Austen, especially when I heard the Brontes were also not much of a fan. I'm a Bronte fan completely. I recently watched 'To Walk Invisible' and was wondering what is with all the Branwell screen time? I guess he added drama. I'm much more of a fan of this tea than Austen. The black tea acts as the perfect base (there, yet not too strong) for great flavors. It's a unique blend of spearmint, lavender and vanilla flavor. Not only do these three flavors go wonderfully well together and complement each other, but they are also equally balanced. This tea almost should have been the Bronte tea and each flavor could have represented each sister (lavender for Emily because she loved the moors, vanilla for Anne because she was the sweet one, and spearmint for the boldness or possibly the freshness of Charlotte's writing). I read Anne's 'Agnes Grey' last year, and if it wasn't for her sisters brilliant writing, I think her writing would have been even more well received than it is. So even though some would say Anne didn't bring much to the table, I disagree! Now I wish I were reading a Bronte book today. This tea would be lovely with reading. |

Makes a proper 'cuppa' of English Tea |
9/20/2017 |
This tea is an absolutely excellent quality blended Black Tea from the brilliant and unique 'Literary Author Tea' collection. Notes of fresh Peppermint, soft Vanilla and comforting Lavender make the palette finish a smooth finesse. Drank with dash of milk (semi-skimmed, low fat or fully pasteurized is taste specific) and tea sugar (I use Tate + Lyle Cane Sugar Demerara cubes from Simpson & Vail, Inc.), this might quite possibly be the perfect 'cuppa' of English Tea. Very pleasant, delightful offering. |

A Wonderful Gift |
8/14/2017 |
I received this tea as a gift on my birthday recently, & it has to be on of the best black teas Ive ever had! I could smell all the flavor notes as soon as I opened the tin. It was heavenly! I tried drinking it without milk or sugar. The mint was the strongest note but was nicely softened by the vanilla and lavender. I will definitely purchase more once I run out. Perfectly fits Austens works! I hope S&V sells this tea forever! |

Fine, not remarkable |

This is one of my least favorite teas in the literary series. Its tasty but doesnt have any truly prominent flavors. The mint is the strongest of the flavoring but it still fairly mild. |

The Tea For Your Chocolate Cake |
4/15/2017 |
I ordered this tea to pair with a tea party menu that included several dishes seasoned with lavender. I figured it would pair well, and it certainly did. What I did not anticipate is how delightfully it pairs with chocolate treats! This tea is hands-down the best one Ive ever had to pair with chocolate cakes, pastries, or scones of any sort. As an added bonus, its absolutely perfect on its own, without sweetener or milk even. |

Whimsical Blend |
2/12/2017 |
I enjoyed this blends unique flavor. The lavender and mint make this blend taste smooth and light. It still has the full body of a tea which makes it much more preferable than mint by itself. |

Delicate, smooth, and flavorful |

The Jane Austen Literary Tea blend is very smooth and flavorful, with a hint of vanilla; it is -- like many of the Georgian heroines in Austens novels -- delicate without being weak. |

Ill take Bronte over Austen |
12/2/2016 |
I had a literary tea party with about 10 ladies, and this was the hands down favorite tea. I personally preffered the Bronte sisters and thought it was comparable in taste. The Austen blend was more subtle with the mint, and I think I was just expecting a stronger tea. However it matches the author its named for and certainly will be a regular at my house. I know it will be asked for an encore. I dont think my opinion will stand up to a second preposal. |

Rich and Full |
6/28/2016 |
This tea is like reading on of Austens novels, there is a lot going on on multiple levels but the balance is never off. Rich, deep floral and vanilla flavors sing with the high quality black tea to make this an enjoyable cup to relax with. |

I was not sure I would like the hint of mint with the vanilla, but it is actually quite tasty. I really enjoy the flavor of this tea. |

Wonderful Tea! |
12/7/2015 |
When I first saw the blend of favors listed for this tea, I was hesitant about the vanilla flavor. However, this is a perfect blend with subtle hints of vanilla and lavender - ending with a touch of mint. This is a lovely and delicious tea - and now on my list of favorites! |

This is a great tea for a cold rainy day! |
11/29/2015 |
This tea is just like I thought it would be! The perfect tea for a cold and rainy day stuck inside the house. It has a calming smell and brews to a very pretty color. I enjoyed mine with a cube of sugar and just a dash of milk! |
