Emily Dickinson was born on December 10th, 1830 and lived in a home that was central to Amherst political society thanks to her father and brothers. Growing up around powerful men prepared Dickinson for a life of the same, but society dictated that, as a woman, she was relegated to seemingly less meaningful ventures. Her anger at this slight comes across in her poetry and letters where she explored complex ideas of meaning and self while examining the smallest details of the world around her. She withdrew herself from society and lived in relative solitude until her death. Only a few of her poems were made public during her lifetime, but four years after her demise, a collection of poems was published and met with popular and critical acclaim. Her poems reveal a complicated mind that examined itself with as much attention to detail as it examined the world. Dickinson’s defiance of categorization and simplification make her a popular poet to study even today.
In the years she spent away from society, Emily Dickinson cultivated an extensive garden. In it, she grew jasmine flowers, cornflowers, roses, and many other flowers, plants and herbs. These flowers appear repeatedly in her poetry so our blend had to be floral. We created a delightful combination of jasmine tea and rose petals that brews to a light ecru cup with long green leaves and rose petal accents. This delicate tea hits you with a strong jasmine taste that’s sweetened and mellowed with the subtle flavors of the rose petals.
Ingredients: Jasmine tea, rose petals, jasmine blossoms, marigold petals and blue cornflower petals.

Best Jasmine Green Tea for Book Lovers |
11/13/2020 |
I first came across this wonderful looseleaf tea at Vroman's Bookstore in Pasadena and loved it. I've tried a lot of jasmine tea (and jasmine green tea) and this is by far my favorite. Really a nice combination of flowers (check out the coloring!) and medium caffeine in strength. Looking forward to trying the rest of the literary tea collection. |

Beautiful Jasmine Garden |

This tea is exactly how I would picture Emily's Dickinson's garden. Delicious Jasmine taste with floral undertones- I love all of S&V's jasmine teas and this is definitely a new favorite. Very light and refreshing on a hot day. I have enjoyed it both hot and iced. |

Jasmine and roses at night |

Do you like jasmine tea? Do you like Earl Grey tea? You will like this. I don't like those things, so I don't like this tea.
It's flowery. Real flowery. This is almost what I thought William Shakespeare's tea should have tasted like, very roses.
This tea smells like it tastes, like jasmine and roses at night. |

This is my first Jasmine tea purchase from Simpson & Vail, and I love it. It looks and smells so beautiful. Like others mentioned it, smelling and tasting the tea is a soothing experience. I think it has a perfect Jasmine taste, flowery and strong. |

This tea does indeed taste like Dickenson, pale, flowery, but complex. Nice for relaxing, but not boring. |

Delightful and Callming |

This lovely tea has become my daily early morning ritual. The tea itself is a visual delight, and as you inhale the dry leaves and flower petals, you feel as you've stepped into an enchanted flower garden. I love jasmine tea, but the rose petals, jasmine blossoms take this tea to a new level... Superb! |

This is my go-to tea whenever I'm stressed out. Something about the tea's flavor and scent is very calming. I like to drink it at the end of a stressful day to wind down. |

This is my go-to for late morning! Its beautiful in a glass teapot and has a lovely, light, floral taste. Its not too heavy on the jasmine either -- more balanced. |
