One of Mr. Vail's 15 original tea blends.
This blending of China green and black teas yields a light amber infusion, with a well rounded cup that has a slightly earthy taste and aroma and a delicate floral aftertaste. China Restaurant tea will complement any Chinese meal.
Ingredients: Black and Green Chinese teas.
Brew tea at 190º - steep for 3 minutes.

Superior |

Before trying this tea, my knowledge of China Restaurant tea came from good, medium-priced Chinese Restaurants (“good” meaning I’d like to go back). And from what I sometimes chose from middle-priced teas in Chinese grocery stores (often, I confess, because I liked the tin container). This offering from Simpson and Vail is clearly superior to any of those. Superior in the ways that even modestly priced S&V teas clearly excel grocery-store teas. Maybe in time I’ll come to enjoy China teas as much as favor teas from Ceylon or India. But I will enjoy having this tea again, to accompany home-made and carry-out Chinese food. |

One of my favorites |

I always keep this one in my pantry. Although it reminds me of teas served with an Asian dinner, I drink it all times of day. The price is right and the flavors too. |

Not my favorite tea but w/ a little jasmine tea thrown in makes nice tea to serve w/ your Asian food. |

A Blend of Contrasts |

This is a good tea comprised of green and black teas. The high and low notes of these two distinct teas create a blend of contrasts that would pair well with sweet and sour chicken and similar Chinese dishes. |

Well balanced |

The flavors of this tea compliment each other wonderfully. Earthy and smoky in that order. The smokiness is not overpowering, just enough to let you know it is present. Great balance on this one. |
