One of Mr. Vail's 15 original tea blends.
Traditional English and Irish Breakfast teas are generally quite robust blends. This version, for standard American tastes, is comprised of teas from India, Sri Lanka, China and Formosa. It is full-bodied and malty with a bright amber cup, but unlike our English and Irish teas, it has a delightful flowery bouquet. It can be enjoyed as is or is excellent with milk, lemon or sweetener. American Breakfast is a blend that is a perfect choice for your first cup of the day.
Ingredients: Black teas and oolong tea.
Brew tea at 212º - steep for 3 minutes.

'Good morning' tea |

Excellent blend that is dominated by the black teas, which makes for a solid cup of tea that is not overpowering due to the added oolong tea. Some blends can be non-descript, but this one hits the mark, especially if you want something a little gentler. |

Nice change for a weekend morning |
3/16/2019 |
This tea follows its description "to a T"—it is not as strong as English or Irish breakfast, but it makes a nice change for a weekend morning when perhaps I don't need quite as much of a jolt to wake up. It brews to a clear, deep amber and has a fine balance between what seems to me to be a predominant Darjeeling taste and the backbone of other teas with a touch of tannin. I've only tried it plain (no sugar or milk), but I suspect it would be fine if you prefer milk in your tea. I was able to get a second steeping without any bitterness and much of the original flavor. |

American Breakfast |

I prefer flavored teas but wanted to try some straight teas. I’m a coffee drinker but sometimes it doesn’t agree with my stomach. I can see this being a good replacement. It’s smooth and full bodied enough to take cream and sugar but not overly so. |

This tea is definitely our favorite. It is a very strong, dark tea but it has no bitter taste. It is one we drink often in the mornings. |

I love this tea as my first morning cup. Stands up to milk well, or plain with honey but delicious blend |

This tea got put on the shelf because we didnt like the first pot we made however when I decreased the brew time to 3 minutes and wasnt using the dust in the bottom of the bag we really liked it. Its one of those morning teas you dont mind drinking every day. |
