Not what I was hoping - this tea ages quickly. |
1/28/2021 |
I’ve been dreading writing a note for this one, since it’s the rare S&V tea that just isn’t good. This sounded like a really nice combination of flavors. I seemed to have missed that the base of the tea was green and not black. It doesn’t seem to be mentioned on the website or the pouch. When fresher, the leaves distinctly had the fragrance of all these lovely elements: orange, vanilla, jasmine. The flavor was bubblegum. But now that the blend is getting older, it definitely smells and tastes like only BUBBLEGUM. The cup cools and the more I’m tasting bubblegum. And then the green tea is also getting a little bitter. But the bubblegum is so odd and not really what I wanted from this one. Second steep: more bubblegum. I think I have learned that some orange flavoring tastes like bubblegum, so I think that is the problem here. Can’t win them all. So the key with this one is to drink it quickly.
Steep #1 // 1 1/3 teaspoons for a full mug // 40 minutes after boiling // 2 minute steep
Steep #2 // 32 minutes after boiling // 2 minute steep |

Vanilla Orange Jasmine |

This is the first tea that I haven’t enjoyed. The jasmine is very strong but it does have a pleasant orange flavor. To me this tasted like drinking a cup of flowers. It was way too floral for my liking. If you enjoy floral teas and orange then I would recommend you try this. |

A balanced blend |

I'm not typically a jasmine person due to it sometimes just being too powerful, however this blend is what I would call perfectly balanced. I can taste each component nicely. Nothing is too overpowering in my opinion. The vanilla makes for a slightly creamy cup; while the orange adds a citrusy brightness. A very enjoyable cup for the afternoon! |

Match Made in Heaven |

Jasmine tea is a favorite of mine with its relaxing, heady fragrance. However, the addition of orange and vanilla to the tea adds complementary bright notes that make it sparkle. The blend is mellow and no one flavor or scent is overpowering. If you love jasmine tea but are searching for a variation, try this! |

This blend is amazing! A great combination all around! The orange taste is very subtle but lends a light citrus flavor, the vanilla provides a creamy base, and the jasmine is heavenly! Definitely a staple in my tea collection! |

I really love this tea and it tasted even better when sipped from my pink Nesaja Tea infuser Mug, which is delightfully Asian in design. |

This is a delightful tea with the orange and vanilla both distinguishable over the jasmine, but making for a unique combined taste. I am very partial to jasmine tea, particularly Dragon Phoenix Pearl Jasmine. While this tea isnt as elegant, it makes for a very satisfying cup that is a little different. I hope new combinations with jasmine tea are soon to follow. |
