Valentine's Black Tea Blend |
11/16/2019 |
The Valentine's Black Tea Blend has a delicious well balanced flavor of cocoa and fruitiness. I have been enjoying it as a hot drink and an iced tea. |

You know when you walk past the Godiva display case and see those lovely chocolate cups heaped full of fresh berries on the top shelf? That is this tea. I gave up sweets for Lent and this tea got me through the entire season. It's robust and chocolatey with a touch of fresh berry that rounds the cup off beautifully. I especially enjoy it cold (but never iced, I'd hate to dilute that flavor!). |

I normally wouldn't think this is my cup of tea (pardon the pun), but it's wonderful. It does taste like chocolate raspberry, but not sweet, so it hits the right notes of being satisfying to a sweet tooth without the calories or sugar. I always have some of this on hand. |

A GREAT chocolate tea, but needs a jammy raspberry flavor to be better |

I've had this a couple times, but the cup today was my favorite yet. Using one teaspoon, I don't think the flavor was working for me. I think the magic is using more than one teaspoon. I saw plenty of big cocoa nibs in the blend, as well as something red ( raspberry bits and hibiscus). The flavor on both steeps is a lovely cocoa chocolate. Probably one of the best chocolate teas I've had so far (especially a chocolate tea that doesn't include cocoa shells). Sadly, there is never a noticeable raspberry flavor. But luckily I'm also never tasting any hibiscus... I really love chocolate and raspberry together so a great jammy raspberry flavor with THIS chocolate flavor might be the most amazing tea ever. I definitely might have to indulge with this tea and use TWO teaspoons at least to see what happens, though the black tea itself seems dark enough and the perfect briskness with a teaspoon and a half, so I shall see. Both steeps were very similar in the amount of chocolate flavor.
Steep #1 // 1 1/2 teaspoons for a full mug // 16 minutes after boiling // 2 minute steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // 4 minute steep
The next day, I tried steeping two teaspoons while following the same parameters otherwise. Somehow this steep session was slightly less chocolatey than yesterday. However, now I'm noticing some hibiscus which is interesting. Obviously the hibiscus is not overpowering if I barely noticed it before. I do think the flavors are an interesting combination. I've had some unappealing chocolate teas, so this chocolate flavor being actually chocolatey is great. I guess the flavors that result are also in the luck of the scoop. The tart hint of hibiscus with chocolate is great. So basically I wanted to try the two teaspoons to make sure the black tea wasn't too astringent, and it isn't to me. I think the black tea strength was similar to yesterday's 1 1/2 teaspoons. So I do prefer this tea with 1 1/2 or 2 teaspoons. It's an okay tea with one teaspoon but using more tea makes this a tea I'd like to stock up on. And with a jammy raspberry flavor, this blend would be one of my very favorites.

Unique and delicious |

I got my package in the mail last night and had to try this right away. First of all, I am amazed by how much tea fits in the 2 oz package. I think it’s a great deal. As for the tea itself, I love the smell so much. I think it smells exactly like chocolate-covered strawberries. I can taste subtle hints of the chocolate and a berry-like taste as well. It is a strong flavor that for me holds up without extra sweetening, but I do love dark chocolate. Very happy I tried this blend! |

Before I tried the Valentines Tea Blend, I wasn't a fan of chocolate teas. Now this is one of my favorite blends! It has a perfect balance of chocolate and raspberry and is delightful with milk and sugar. This blend made me a fan of chocolate teas! |

Chocolate Raspberry tea |
7/23/2018 |
I have been enjoying quite a few of The Black dessert teas and this one is no exception. Chocolate raspberries are two of my favorite flavors. This tea tastes pretty similar to the chocolate covered strawberry cupcake tea. I feel it’s best with a touch of sugar as that makes the flavors come to life. |

This tea seems to vary with each order sometimes with more raspberry bits which make it taste sweeter more like milk chocolate, and other times more like dark chocolate. |

Is there supposed to be glitter? |

The tea itself is delicious--well-rounded, with a smooth chocolate taste. However, when I brewed it, my cup was full of red glitter! It didnt affect the taste, but it was more than a little disconcerting. |
