Subtly salty, caramel, or pumpkin but comforting anyway. |

I bought this a while ago now, but the flavor seems like it's staying consistently vague since I bought it. I've been trying it with different steeping parameters and I think I've found the right way to brew it now. Two teaspoons for a full mug with a very short steep and cooler water makes the flavors pop better than if I just try to oversteep the tea on the first cup. I've found one minute steeps work best on teas with subtle flavoring, especially if there are not really any additional ingredients other than flavoring. Honestly, it would be difficult to make a tea taste like Salty Caramel Pumpkin with flavoring alone and that is what this is. Black tea and flavoring. Like possibly the flavoring was added to a tea, it was taste tested, and someone were asked to think up a name for it... it MIGHT be "salty caramel pumpkin"? It's tough to tell what this tastes like otherwise. There is a hint of salt, sweetness, and maybe the savoriness of a pumpkin, but only if you're really trying to reach. Raisins in the second cup when it's cooled. I like the depth of the black tea - it's comforting with these flavors in autumn. But I will definitely be steeping this tea like this in the future. Both steeps had equal amounts of flavor. Otherwise, any longer than one minute and it starts tasting like plain black tea.
Steep #1 // 2 teaspoons for full mug // 22 minutes after boiling // 1 minute steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // 3 minute steep |

This one was a miss for me |

I love salted caramels. I can even use salted caramel syrup (it’s not very salty). But this I just did not like. It wasn’t until after I bought it that I remembered getting some sort of salted caramel coffee or coffee drink and deciding that my tongue thinks salt and coffee should never mix. I guess the same goes for tea. |

Needs More Pumpkin |

The flavor is quite pleasant, but I’d say it tastes more like burnt caramel than exactly what it’s supposed to. I added some milk and sugar, and it’s tasty, but I would love some pumpkin flavor or something to distinguish it from several other teas I have of this variety. |

No caramel flavor |

I liked this tea but don’t really get a caramel flavor. Perhaps I made it too strong. To me, it tastes very similar to the pumpkin spice. |

Salty Caramel Pumpkin Tea |

I was super excited to try this tea. First off it smells amazing. Brewed the caramel is the most predominant flavor I’m getting. I wish I could taste the pumpkin more. As the tea cools I did get more of the pumpkin flavor. |

Just as described, with a toasty caramel finish |

I received this tea as a free sample with my last order, and I have to commend S&V on a tremendous sales technique, because this stuff is divine and I will be ordering some with my next purchase. Its toasty caramel flavor warms you through, and the ever-so-slightly salty touch makes the tea different and interesting. I don't taste much distinctive pumpkin flavor, but I suppose that's largely because it's not pumpkin SPICE. This is a mild, comforting tea, and I love it with a bit of sugar. I highly recommend this. |

My new favorite tea |

I bought this tea on a whim in a tea shop. I've tried caramel teas before, and they usually end up tasting like burnt sugar instead of caramel. But i was able to smell it before buying, and it smelled so good. I'm so glad I bought it - the caramel taste is just perfect and it's not overwhelmingly pumpkin. Really a great combination of flavors! I just reordered a tin, because I drank it almost every day. |

Pumpkin-tastic |

So excited to see a pumpkin tea without the spice! A warming, full-bodied cup. The pumpkin is not a strong flavor but rather intermixed with the other flavors nicely. Another great dessert tea from S&V! |

Delicious |

I read the reviews before I first bought this tea, so I knew not to expect a distinct pumpkin flavor. Other salted carmel teas I've had are good, but one cup at a time is plenty. This one I brew by the pot, and I will be serving it year 'round, not just seasonally. |

Not really my cup of tea |

The combination of pumpkin and caramel wasnt something I liked as much as I thought I would. It wasnt terrible, but the smell was a little strange (I thought it would be more like a pumpkin spice tea but I was mistaken), and the taste just didnt do it for me. Its drinkable, but not something Id ever seek out again. |

Solid base makes this tea shine! |

This is a rich black tea that is perfect for cool mornings or afternoons. There is some astringency in the base that evens out the salty and sweet components. I definitely get a buttery, salty caramel flavor but sadly no pumpkin. Oh well. It is a solid caramel tea. |
