Just one taste will have you exclaiming "UNBELIEVABLE"! Greidanus' Honey Mill Honey is a pure white unprocessed honey from Canada. Unique in appearance and flavor, this raw honey is not blended or pasteurized.
Even our in-house honey hater said, "I really do hate honey, but this is so good." Imported from the clover rich prairies of Southern Alberta, Canada, this 17.6 oz jar of unprocessed mild flavored honey is as pure as nature intended and you're sure to love its creamy, velvety texture. Use it on scones, toast (with a sprinkle of cinnamon), tea, coffee … anywhere in place of sugar.
At the Greidanus Honey Mill they produce this unprocessed honey so that they can maintain all the naturally occurring nutrients, ensuring you are receiving nature's healthiest sweetener. They take stewardship of the land seriously and use renewable energy on their farm. A 10kWatt solar system enables them to produce some of the finest honey in southern Alberta with a significantly reduced carbon footprint.
Baking with honey:
Honey is sweeter than sugar and it contains moisture so you must make adjustments in a recipe when substituting honey for sugar.
Here are two guidelines:
1. Substitute equal amounts of honey for sugar, but reduce other liquid by 1/4 cup for each cup of honey use.
2. Use 3/4 cup honey in place of 1 cup of sugar and make no liquid adjustment.
Lastly, browning occurs more readily with honey than sugar, so turn down your oven by 25 F when you use honey instead of sugar.
Honey can easily be stored at room temperature in a closed container. Excessive amounts of moisture can cause your honey to ferment.
Your honey will crystallize if it is purchased in its liquid form. This is completely natural. If you would like to have smooth, creamy honey, place your container of honey into the freezer. This produces very small crystals that will yield smooth creamy honey. Do not place your honey in the fridge as larger crystals will result, giving your honey a grainy texture.
Note! Children under the age of one year should not consume raw honey.
I'd never tried raw honey or whipped honey before this, but now me and my husband are hooked. It's excellent in tea, but also great as a spread, since the consistency is similar to butter.
