Lovely Surprise |
12/30/2020 |
I received this tea as a gift. When I opened the tin, a delectable aroma lifted my senses. I could not wait to get a cup of it brewed. The first sip lived up to, and perhaps surpassed the aroma. This is a full bodied green with the hint of strawberry making a lovely surprise! |

Light and Refreshing |

This is my first Simpson and Vail purchase. It did not disappoint. As a fan of both green tea and Louisa May Alcott, I found this tea to be light and refreshing without the bitter taste of other green teas. Certainly not my last purchase. |

Light surprise |

I first tried this because I love the author, and it was a wise choice. It smells slightly fruity and fresh, and is not overpowering. It's a lovely green tea that I can enjoy all day long. |

I love this blend! The taste is mainly fruity but I can also taste the almond and a hint of floral. As an avid tea drinker, this has become one of my new favorites. |

Not my favorite |

This is my least favorite of the Simpson and Vail teas I’ve tried, but I blame myself. I should have read the ingredients more closely; this is one of the teas with flavoring added, and I have found that those taste a bit more artificial. For me, there is an aftertaste in this tea that is like medicine and not very pleasant. It helps if I make sure to only steep for exactly two minutes. I also find that the second steep is much better with less of a medicine taste. Overall though, I prefer the Walt Whitman green tea, but if you like a strong berry taste, you should give this one a try. |

Alcott has been my favorite author for most of my life, so when I saw this tea I knew I had to have some. I figured it would be a fun way to taste her style, but I never imagined it would be such a perfect tea for me! I LOVED IT! Thank you for bringing this to life! |

Delicious Tea in a Lovely Tin |
3/29/2018 |
I read most, if not all, of Louisa May Alcott's books when I was younger. I have re-read many of them through the years and still have some of them on my bookshelves now. I chose this tea just to see if the flavor would live up to the books.
When I opened the silver tin, I was greeted with the sweetest, most comforting fragrance that just made me want to smile. I brewed a hot cup, closed my eyes and tasted this tea to see what thoughts it would bring forth. I immediately thought of an earlier, gentler time, the March home with the sisters and Marmee bustling about. Inside the home was a fragrance of a light strawberry almond cream dessert that invited the feeling of a festive gathering to be experienced. I drank more of the perfect blend and thought about Jo and her stories she brought to life in her home presentations. Whoever designed this tea definitely evoked Ms. Alcott's settings, events and characters. |

A unique blend but needs adjusting to make it amazing... |

This tea seemed like a good tea to have around the holidays. I haven't read Little Women yet (it's around here somewhere) but it seems like a wintery book to me? At least what I know of the book suggests winter. Anyway, this tea is more summer than winter. It is fruity and fresh. The base is a Chunmee green with additional rose petals, apples and strawberries. I noticed many pieces of fruit in my infuser! I wouldn't say the flavors stand out with strictly apple or strawberry... it's more of a general fruit flavor. The rose notes are very light... more in the background. The description mentions an almond flavor and I wish it would have been more noticeable. But I'm very glad for the green base in this one. This is a delicious blend but I think it needs adjustments to make it a fantastic blend.
Steep #1 // 1 1/2 teaspoons for a full mug// 30 minutes after boiling // 3 minute steep
Steep #2 // 25 minutes after boiling // 3 minute steep |

Reminds me a little of an almond Italian soda, with just a hint of bitterness from the green tea. Looking forward to having some more! |
