Dessert in a Cup |
3/6/2018 |
If you love cherries, give this mellow green tea a try. The cherry flavor is pronounced, but it is more the taste of a cherry lollipop than of fresh cherries. The green tea is a good choice because it does not overpower the cherry notes. It has become more and more popular to add hibiscus petals to teas. In this case, I don't really taste the zip it usually adds. I think this would be good with a wedge of lemon and a small amount of sweetener. Try it iced for a treat on a hot day. |

Bold flavors, needed brightening |
10/20/2016 |
This tea smelled delicious; however the flavor was a bit odd. The initial flavor was of heavy rose, then mellowed into a softer floral, then left you with a dark cherry finish. Because of the heavy rose/floral notes, it needed something to make it more refreshing. I ended up adding a splash or two of apple cider to give it that little bit of brightness I thought it needed. I did cold brew this and feel it would be warming and bold if served hot. |
