Detailed Description
Japan, with its warm climate and ample rain, is a perfect environment for tea growing. Tea growing is thought to have begun here in the 8th century. While other countries grow their tea bushes on hillsides and pick teas by hand, Japanese gardens are meticulously planted in rows along hills close to natural water sources. Although some teas are hand-picked in Japan, most of the tea grown here is mechanically picked and processed using high tech machinery. Also, unlike other countries that designate their teas by regions or estates, Japanese teas are generally sold by styles.

Genmaicha Green tea is a mixture of a Sencha and popped Genmai (hulled rice kernels), yielding a light brown tea with very unique taste!

Brew tea at 175º - steep for 1 - 2 minutes.

Unique taste 9/21/2021
This tea is different than other green teas. It is not as bitter, and the rice infused is a nice change. Good to drink all day.

Never Fails To Hit The Spot 5/8/2021
This Genmaicha blend is my go-to green tea. Its bold, roasty-toasty flavor and soothing aroma, coupled with its pretty amber shade once brewed, immediately transport me back to my days sipping it at my favorite authentic Japanese tea house. (And that's saying a lot since I'm only sipping this blend nowadays in my authentically outdated kitchen.) This tea is what I can only describe as an eventful green tea. The bits of hulled rice kernels are visible in every scoop and not only make for a rewarding sensory experience, but a satisfying flavor that cannot be mistaken for just your average green tea. Sipping it is so satisfying that you can't help but feel as though you've snatched a secret, care-free moment of tranquility during your otherwise chaotic daily routine. In fact, the only downside to having this tea in your cupboard is that you are likely to panic when you run out.

DIFFERENT! 9/13/2020
GREEN TEA WITH A DISTINCT TASTE OF RICE! THIS TEA IS LIGHT AND SMOOTHER THAN MOST GREENS. IF YOU'D LIKE TO TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT, THIS IS THE ONE!

Excellent dinner tea 8/8/2017
I have been buying Genmaicha tea for years. This one is very fragrant, I enjoyed it a lot and would definitely buy it again. This tea works very well as a dinner tea, especially with Asian food. I recommend that you try it with sushi or even just grilled fish, veggies and rice, or any other Asian foods.

Best Green Tea 11/21/2016
This Genmaicha is very smooth, the rice kernels give it a unique flavor, which to me tastes a little nutty. Everyone I know that says they do not like green always love this tea when I brew it for them.
