Detailed Description
The Fujian Province of China is the birthplace for the semi-oxidized Oolong teas. Oolong teas, aka wulong or black dragon, are made from large leaves that are produced in the late Spring. Unlike other types of tea that contain the top leaves and the buds of the bush, oolong teas are large well formed leaves that will sometimes also contain the stem of the bush. Oolongs differ from green, black and white teas by the method of processing and are the most labor intensive tea to produce. Each type of Oolong varies in the percentage of oxidation and the method in which it is processed (some are twisted, tippy leaves, some are cut, some are rolled into small balls).

Taiwan teas are world famous for their exquisite taste and exceptional quality. Surprisingly tea cultivation was late in coming to Taiwan as records show that this began only in the mid 19th century. Owing to the close proximity to some of the famous tea growing areas in China, Taiwan excels at producing high quality traditional style Oolong teas. Taiwan's geography varies from mountainous areas to low lying coastal regions. The sharp rise in altitudes and the surrounding seas provide Taiwan with diverse weather patterns and soil conditions, which contribute to the unique tasting teas found here.

The tightly rolled olive green leaves of this Oolong tea open into extremely large olive tealeaves. The pale ecru cup has an indescribable aroma and a light fruity, peach-like flavor. Truly exquisite!

Brew tea at 185º - steep for 2 minutes. Try multiple infusions (let the tea steep for approximately 15 seconds longer on each subsequent infusion).

My favorite tea 2/3/2017
This tea is my most-favorite tea- its delicious, and full-flavored, yet delicate. The tea is balled, so it takes very little to make ones cup and unlike crushed leaf teas, it requires no teaware to brew- as it wont cause a mess of flotsam in the cup when brewed by just tossing a few balls of it in the cup and covered with hot water. I simply allow it to brew until the leaves begin to sink, and its ready for me to enjoy, no fishing expedition to reove the leaves, -no mess, and may be re-brewed. The flavor is difficult to accurately deescribe- it almost has a hint of flowers - or fruit blossom in it. This is also my little grandsons favorite cup, and that is even over strawberry cupcake tea! He expressed disappointment over our last tea party when I had run out of this tea. OF course, his cup is tiny, but that does not stop him from cherishing every sip.

Mighty Fine Taste 10/23/2016
This is my favorite Oolong tea. Its also easily the most popular for my frequent guests. The leaves pack so much flavor that I dont often feel the need to include more than one teaspoon per brew.

My favorite! 3/2/2012
This tea is BY far my favorite! Furthermore, it has been so, for the last fifteen years, at least. There is no comparison with other teas- although I do enjoy many others. It brews to a very light cup, has a magnificent scent and flavor, even when brewed strong, and the leaves tolerate multiple infusions. Serve this one at your tea party, and they will love it! I prefer it without cream or sugar- It stands alone.
