Detailed Description
The Bronte sisters, Charlotte, Emily and Anne, lived and wrote in Yorkshire, England. Born in 1816, 1818 and 1820, respectively, the sisters lived very short lives, with Charlotte living the longest at 38. During their unfortunately short lifetimes, each sister produced novels that would become cornerstones of western literature and inspire studies for generations. Emily’s Wuthering Heights, Charlotte’s Jane Eyre, and Anne’s The Tenant of Wildfell Hall each found an audience and acclaim that continues to this day. With their novels, the sisters introduced the world to a starkly honest portrayal of English womanhood that didn’t hide the ugliness and intrigue many novels of the time shied away from. Although tame by today’s standards, their inclusion of independent female characters, alcoholism, and abuse meant that the Bronte’s novels faced their share of controversy.

The Bronte family kept an orchard and garden where the sisters spent much of their time exploring, drawing, and writing. Charlotte was more inclined to draw the flowers and the plants than to stop and smell them, but Anne and Emily were happy to get their hands dirty with a little gardening. Emily especially, who was known to be a bit of a recluse, could often be found taking long walks and enjoying nature. Our Bronte Sisters tea blend combines pear, apple, and gooseberry flavors to make a sweet and fragrant blend that’s reminiscent of an orchard stroll. The flavors in this blend meld together in perfect harmony and the taste lingers deliciously on the palate.

Ingredients: Black teas, papaya pieces (papayas and sugar), apple flavor, gooseberry flavor, pear flavor, raspberry pieces, alfalfa leaves and marigold petals.

Perfect for a winter's evening 12/1/2020
This tea was a gift and it's just delightful! I only drink warm drinks in the cooler months and have been enjoying this so much. The fruitiness is perfectly balanced! Thank you!

Perfect tea for a pandemic 5/14/2020
I...I would fight someone for this tea. This tea tastes like an apple/ pear cordial or mixed drink. This tea tastes strongly of apples and pears, so much that I just sort if shut the world out so I could enjoy it. I'm ordering a pound of this. THERE ARE NO APPLES AND PEARS IN THE INGREDIENTS. WHAT IS THIS TEA SORCERY? This tea wants you to believe there's hope during a pandemic and apples are awesome.

Papaya, mango, and marigolds, oh my! 3/16/2020
Papaya, mango, and marigolds, oh my! I decided to try this tea a bit on a whim. I love papaya so I though, "Why not?" I am glad I made that decision! You can taste the papaya and the mango and marigold petal flavors are just enough and not too much.

Fantastically Fruity!! 11/26/2018
I LOVE the amount of fruit flavor in this cuppa! Yummy, crisp and delicious!

Nice afternoon cuppa 1/14/2018
This tea is one I find myself brewing in the afternoon. It satisfies my desire for something sweet, and I love the aroma. It is a fruity tea, which is something I generally don't care for, but I like this one. Besides, who can resist Jane Eyre?

Brontes! Tea! A great combination! 8/16/2017
The Brontes are some of my heroes. Yes, all three sisters, even Anne (not really Branwell, sorry guy.) To be so brilliant yet so isolated! I'll dread the day I've read all of their books, but then I will just start right over again. I wanted some reading fuel yesterday so went with this choice. Fierce Brontes (and caffeine), give me some reading power! I think it worked. I was reading outside on a great summer day the amazing Bone People by Keri Hulme which is a book that I think the Brontes would love, with the themes of solitude and isolation. ANYWAY, the tea is lovely. A crisp black tea with oodles of fruit flavor. ACTUAL papaya and raspberry bits, not just flavorings. But there apparently are pear and gooseberry flavors here that I don't think I noticed. Of course I've never had gooseberry so who knows? Maybe the fruit flavors just melded together because it is certainly fruity! Plenty of pretty flowers. The black tea pairs perfectly with the fruit. It's a fruity summer concoction and certainly delicious. Steep #1 // 1 1/2 teaspoons for a full mug// 15 minutes after boiling // 3 minute steep Steep #2 // just boiled // 4 minute steep

Too fruity 7/18/2017
One of the literary teas I have not enjoyed much ... it is too fruity for me. I prefer teas to taste more like tea and only slight hints of other flavors. This one is about 80% fruit tasting!

Very fruity 2/1/2017
The fruit flavor is very sweet and strong. If you like that sort of thing (and I do), then this is a great tea for you. But if you prefer you tea to be tea-flavored, then maybe find a different one.

As dark and strong as the heights 12/3/2016
I could see myself wandering the moores at night for this tea. It tasted much darker than the description. I might have brewed it a little long but it is definitely one of my new favorites. Im not usually a berry person, but I love this combination. It was reminiscent of mint and vanilla even though those were not flavors included. Howd that happen? Whether Im at the Heights, a convent school, or just lost in poetry, this will be one of my new go-to teas.

Adventure in a cup 7/3/2016
This fruity black tea is a nice bold cup. The black teas selected for this blend are strong enough to support the fruit flavor. It has made me excited to try the other author teas!

Not really my favorite. 6/27/2016
Its far milder than I thought it would be by the description and the scent. It has a light mixed-fruit taste that is nice enough, but its not really something Id buy again.

better than i could have imagined! 5/17/2016
As the first adult style book I ever read Jane Eyre will always be book that I judge all others towards. I am so glad to have found a tea that I love as much as I love Jane Eyre!

Loved it! 1/24/2016
I wasnt sure Id like this as much as I did, but Wuthering Heights is my favorite book, so I gave it a try. Its probably the best tea Ive ever tasted. Even my husband liked it, and hes not much of a tea drinker. It has wonderful fruity notes, and the papaya pieces, raspberry pieces, and marigold petals make it beautiful to look at, too. I will definitely purchase more.
