Vanilla planifolia, is indigenous to Mexico, where it is pollinated by tiny humming birds and a bee called Melipona. Vanilla is actually in the orchid family and is the only orchid to produce an edible fruit. Hand pollination has allowed the vanilla plant to be grown in other places in the world such as Madagascar and Tahiti.
We're so lucky to be able to have vanilla so readily available to us! This bean produces a heady aroma and flavor that infuses your taste buds with exotic wonder. This Rooibos blend has a vanilla flavor similar to vanilla extract. The deep amber cup is delectable, and is perfect as is, or with just a touch of sweetener. Try blending a little in with other teas to create marvelous new taste sensations.
Ingredients: Rooibos and vanilla flavor.
Brew tea at 212º - steep for 5 minutes.
||A cupboard essential for night time drinking!
|I bought this one from Simpson & Vail a few months ago. I love a nice vanilla rooibos (its one of my cupboard staples!), so I had to try S&Vs. My ideal vanilla rooibos would have plenty of actual vanilla bean but this one only has flavored rooibos (no vanilla beans). But its good flavoring anyway. Sweet sweet vanilla cream on the base of a really great flavored and smooth rooibos. The rooibos leaves a really deep red cup. Ive had this one a few times now. I just guzzle this one down at night! The only way this would have been improved is with vanilla pieces in the blend.
Steep #1 // 1 1/2 teaspoon for a full mug// few minutes after boiling // 3 minute steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // 5+ minute steep|
||A caffeine free treat
|If youre looking for a caffeine free dessert tea, this is your cup. Rooibos and vanilla are like peanut butter and jelly; a long standing good combination and S&V got it just right.|
