(Tilia europea) Native to Europe and North America, the leaves and flowers from the Linden tree are used for a variety of medicinal properties. Linden, referred to as lime flowers in Europe, has a very pleasant taste. Topically it has been used to soothe tired, puffy eyes and is therefore beneficial when used as a facial steam.
Brew 2 tsp of herb in 1 cup of water at 212º - steep for 15-20 minutes.
3 cups distilled water
½ cup apple cider vinegar
1 tsp lavender blossoms
1 tsp rose petals
1 tsp. linden flowers
Boil the water and the vinegar. Place herbs in a large bowl, pour the water/vinegar over the herbs, cover and steep for 5 minutes. Place the bowl in a safe, comfortable place, uncover the bowl, bend low over it and cover your head and the bowl with a towel to form a tent. Keep your eyes closed, and breathe slowly. Follow the steam with a mask and moisturizer.
