Organically grown Teas and Tisanes
For teas to be listed as "organic" they have to be certified by an accredited organization. Some of the main agencies regulating the industry are the European Union, USDA National Organic Program, and Demeter (Germany). Two of the well known certifying agencies include the IMO (Institute for Marketecology- Switzerland) and the QAI (Quality Assurance International - California).
While once thought of as a grass roots movement, organic teas are now perceived to be a value added benefit not only for the farmer and the land, but also for the consumer as well. Going organic, when ever possible, is a healthy alternative for today's life styles!
