(Ulmus rubra) This bark comes from a large, deciduous tree that is native to North America. Slippery Elm Bark has soothing, nutritive qualities and is used for sensitive or inflamed mucous membrane linings in the digestive system. It is especially helpful for a painful, sore throat and upset stomach. This bark is also used to help the respiratory system by soothing coughs.
Brew 2 tsp of bark in 1 cup of water at 212º - steep for 10-15 minutes.
