(Rosa canina) A perennial flower, the genus Rosa contains many varieties of roses. Rosehips are the fleshy edible fruit from the rose plant. Fruity and pleasant tasting, rosehips are known for their high concentrations of vitamins A,B,E,K & especially C (a cup of rosehips contains approximately 1700 mg of Vitamin C). Rosehips are brewed as a tea and are also made into jams and jellies, as well as used for cosmetic purposes.
Brew 1 Tbsp. in 1 cup of water at 212º - steep for 10 minutes.

Rosehip Scrubbing Sack Recipe from Natural Beauty at Home by Janice Cox
Ingredients:
1 large piece of cheesecloth
1 Tbsp rosehips
½ cup grated soap flakes
½ cup oatmeal
3-4 drops rose essential oil (optional)
cotton string
Mix together the herbs, soap, oatmeal, and essential oil.. Place the soap mixture in the cheesecloth, and using the string, tie up the corners, creating a little pouch or sack. Use this sack in the bath or shower for scrubbing your skin clean. Hang it to dry between uses and it will last longer.
