(Malva Sylvestris) This species of Mallow was native to Western Europe, Africa and Asia, but is now cultivated in many parts of the world. Grown mostly as an ornamental plant, Malva has many varied uses. It is used in cosmetics, potpourri and soap as well as in herbal tea blends. Historically it was thought that these flowers could be helpful for sore throats caused by coughs and colds.
Brew 1 tsp of herb in 1 cup of water at 212º - steep for 3-5 minutes.
