(Citrus limon) The fruit from the Lemon evergreen tree has been used for culinary and medicinal purposes for thousands of years. While fresh lemons and zest are most often used for culinary recipes, the dried peel is an important make-up of herbal tea blends. Its lemony taste helps add flavor to herbal teas as well as sometimes helping the flavor of unpleasant tasting herbs. Lemon Peel also has astringent properties and is high in vitamin C, making it essential in herbal tea blends that are formulated for colds, sore throats, and more.
Brew 1 tsp of herb in 1 cup of water at 212º - steep for 15 minutes.
