Dandelion Root, c/s, commercial |
(Taraxacum officinale) A perennial plant found almost everywhere, dandelion is considered a weed by many gardeners. The plant, however, does have several culinary and medicinal uses and is regarded by many herbalists to be one of the best overall tonics. When the root of dandelion is taken, it can aid the liver and kidneys in the removal of toxic substances from the body.
For tea: Put 2 tsp. of the root in 1 cup of water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Caffeine Free.
Mix dandelion root with eleuthero (Siberian Ginseng), burdock root, cinnamon, licorice root and ginger root for a refreshing blend that is a perfect nerve tonic.
